Who was Beau Biden?
A champion for justice. A voice for the vulnerable.
An unwavering advocate for child protection.
Beau Biden was a hero. He lived by the strictest code of honor, duty, service and country. After 9/11, he joined the National Guard to serve his country and completed a yearlong deployment to Iraq during the war.
Never one to cut corners, when offered an appointment to be Delaware’s attorney general, he turned it down — preferring to win the role through an election. In 2006, he was elected Delaware attorney general after serving as a prosecutor in the U.S. attorney’s office. He was reelected in 2010.
As attorney general, Beau aggressively pursued child sex crime cases, including the prosecution of one of the worst child predators in U.S. history. He won approximately 180 convictions in all. It was his unrelenting passion for fighting child abuse that kindled this foundation in his name. His legacy lives on with every child saved.
“As adults, we all have a responsibility to protect children and take action when we believe a child is being abused.”
— Beau Biden

A lasting impact
“Let’s keep up this fight. We can save lives,” Beau said. That is our calling. Since our inception in 2015, a month after Beau’s passing, we have conducted child abuse prevention workshops in more than 25 states. We have taught over 60,000 adults how to recognize and report abuse and trained over 35,000 children in online safety.
In Beau’s name, we continue to shine a light on the importance of speaking out when abuse is suspected. With growing numbers of adults reporting abuse, more children are saved. What an incredible legacy.

Join us to honor Beau’s legacy
Beau Biden envisioned a safer future for children through education, advocacy and action. His mission was to educate adults and children, develop the next generation of child welfare professionals, and strengthen child protection laws around the country. Let’s keep Beau’s plan going.
