Our mission

We believe that child abuse can be prevented through effectively educating adults and children, developing the next generation of child welfare professionals and strengthening child protection laws around the country.

“We are seeing the beginning of what can be accomplished if we continue shining [a] bright light on child abuse. As adults, we have a legal and moral obligation to stand up and speak out for children who are being abused. These children cannot speak for themselves.”

— Beau Biden

Protecting Children.
Empowering Communities.

Founded to honor Beau Biden’s legacy, the Beau Biden Foundation is committed to preventing child abuse through education and awareness. Our unwavering mission is to protect children by equipping communities with the knowledge and tools they need to create safer environments.

We empower adults with critical insights into predators’ tactics, the warning signs of child abuse, and the proper steps for reporting concerns. We educate adults and children to recognize and respond to bullying and cyberbullying. And in today’s digital world, we provide families with the skills to keep children safe online.

We believe every child deserves to be safe

We believe child abuse and neglect are preventable—and that education is the key to protecting children. By empowering adults and children with the knowledge and skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to abuse, we can create safer communities.

We believe no child should be bullied—online or in person. Every child deserves to feel safe at school, at home, and in their community. Teaching children and adults how to recognize, respond to, and prevent bullying is critical to stopping it before it escalates.

We believe educating parents, caregivers, educators, youth-serving professionals, first responders, and all adults who interact with children must become standard practice in every community. A well-informed adult is often the first line of defense in protecting a child from harm.

We believe the time is now to invest in and train the next generation of child welfare professionals. The future of child protection depends on well-trained, dedicated individuals who are prepared to advocate for and protect children.

We believe strengthening national child protection laws is an urgent and attainable goal. Every child deserves the protection of strong policies and laws that prioritize their safety and well-being.

Together, we can create a world where every child is safe, supported, and protected. Join us in this mission.
